2024 ALA Chapter Leadership Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah

In July, Melissa Hauser (Chapter Treasurer) and I had the privilege of attending the Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI) conference in Salt Lake City, UT. This was my first time at CLI, and I was eager to learn about the responsibilities of the VP role, network with peers, and gather new ideas. Melissa and I participated in various sessions tailored to our respective positions on the Board, and we found each one to be rich with relevant information that we are excited to share as we advance in our roles.

Our days were packed with insightful sessions and engaging discussions with members from other chapters, while our evenings allowed us to explore the dynamic city of Salt Lake. While it was an enriching experience, we were both eager to return home. However, our trip coincided with CrowdStrike's unexpected crash on the Friday of the conference. Unbeknownst to me, our Chapter seems to have a slight curse when it comes to CLI travel. Despite some unexpected delays and a few extra days in Salt Lake City/driving across the country, we both eventually made it home safely.
